About Craig
I started my working career as a welder and continued with this for about 8 years before coming into the tattoo industry. I have always had a passion for learning and art in general is what I love to do. Spending hundreds of hours drawing with a biro I feel helped to prepare me for the intricacies of tattooing. I have been in the industry now for 6 years, I started out shadowing another local fellow artist Mark Logan in his studio observing and learning his techniques and for this, I will be forever grateful. Through continued hard work, a lot of self-drive and motivation and the continued help and support from others I now have my own studio and continue to learn every day.
I am very passionate about wanting to pass on what I have learned myself on my tattooing journey so far to support those just starting out. At the moment I have four apprentice artists in the studio working alongside me, they are working hard and learning each day. We have created an environment where we work together to help each other grow as artists and learn with life experiences.
The majority of my work is black-and-grey realism and I really appreciate the opportunities to complete portraits and challenge myself each time, it is a huge responsibility to recreate an image of a loved one or animal and I enjoy every moment of it. I also enjoy other styles like colour realism, traditional, Japanese, blackwork, neo-traditional, fine line, and designing bespoke tattoos from scratch. Surrealism is a style that I want to focus on more in the future, combining realism with pure creative imagination.
